It’s here again! Hot, sweaty, summer sun, and the perfect season for our favorite treat!
July is National Ice Cream Month. In 1984, Senator Walter Dee Huddleston of Kentucky introduced a resolution to proclaim the month of July 1984 National Ice Cream Month and the 15th of the month National Ice Cream Day. The bill was signed into law that year by Ronald Reagan, making ice cream the official treat of July nationwide! Even though the bill only specified that July 1984 was National Ice Cream Month, the tradition carries on—to our tasty delight.
Here in Washington, we have created additional excitement surrounding our favorite treat. Imagine making fresh ice cream right on your boat. SeaMaid Ice Cream Maker tows behind your boat to yield a perfect serving of your favorite ice cream recipe while you’re out with the family.
Take a SeaMaid (or TWO), rock salt, ice and prepared ice cream ingredients on the boat. The recipe goes into the internal mixing container. The external container is filled layering ice with rock salt. Seal tightly, attach a line to the heavy duty swivel, and drop the SeaMaid over the side of your boat. Tow around at approximately 7 knots for 20-25 minutes, and the SeaMaid will yield delicious ice cream.
